Private lessons are an excellent way for an athlete to experience the difference with one-on-one
instruction. The Y offers both Progressive and Competitive levels of coaching. We focus on technique, confidence, flexibility, personal growth, strength, and self-awareness.

Calling all young ninjas! Y Go Ninja! is an exciting, high-energy class designed to build strength, agility, and confidence in a fun and supportive environment. Kids will develop coordination, balance, and teamwork through ninja tricking and gymnastics inspired by parkour and martial arts. Includes shirt, headband, and wristband.

Martial Arts Program-Mansfield Branch
Discover the discipline, strength, and focus of traditional Japanese martial arts with Shotokan Karate. This class emphasizes respect, self-control, and personal development while teaching powerful techniques such as punches, kicks, blocks, and stances. Students will progress through structured belt ranks, learn self-defense skills, and build confidence in a supportive and energetic environment.
Open to all experience levels—beginners welcome! Classes focus on kihon (basics), kata (forms), and kumite (sparring), tailored to age and skill level.

Are meals provided?Yes. Breakfast, lunch and snacks are provided. We do not allow outside food unless there is a medical reason.

Does Child Care ever close? What about weather?Our sites close based on the YMCA closure schedule and two professional development days each year. WMFD.com and the ProCare app will alert you of all closures.

What does the Step Up To Quality star rating mean?Step Up To Quality (SUTQ) is a five-star quality rating and improvement system administered by the Ohio Department of Education and the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services. SUTQ recognizes and promotes learning and development programs that meet quality program standards that exceed preschool licensing and school age child care licensing health and safety regulations. Step Up To Quality program standards are based on national research identifying standards which lead to improved outcomes for children.
